Newsletter No.41
Semester 1, 2016
Dear JAM members,
Welcome back to JAM in 2016!
Christmas
Our lovely Christmas Carol concert in December was held in the hall of the Hampton Uniting Church for the first time. It was a lovely evening of performances and song with some new items we perpared over the semester and old favourites. Wayne was a highlight as usual performing the role of Father Christmas with flair. We farewelled Ice, our music therapy student and we are looking forward to some new students next year.
Research at JAM
Excitingly, we have been offered the opportunity to be involved in some research through the Music Therapy Department of Melbourne University. This will involve 3 observations over 6 months of our sessions and possibly videoed. It is funded by the Australian Research Council. Full consent will be obtained before we go ahead.
Grill’d
Through the Local Matters program we came 2nd place in the competition – this means we receive $100! We will receive the cheque in a few weeks and they would like some of the group to be there when they present it – A great photo opportunity! What a great program is Local matters and a great initiative from Grill'd - a burger company!!
Details to follow.
